Beginning with a robust workplace strategy phase, the transformation of the GIB Winstone head office was a comprehensive and future-focused project. The relocation brought together multiple teams under one roof in an expansive 1800m² open-plan office, which also includes a warehouse and technical labs, enabling greater collaboration and operational efficiency.

The project involved navigating a complex council consent process, with detailed coordination across various engineering disciplines to deliver a high-performance, code-compliant environment. The resulting workplace fitout reflects a refined, considered approach to modern office design, where functionality and sustainability meets thoughtful materiality.

Subtle colour palettes and layered textures were used throughout to create a calm, productive atmosphere tailored to the needs of diverse teams. Breakout areas, focused work zones, and shared spaces offer flexibility and support a variety of work styles and ‘communities or squads’.

A key feature of the design is the Training Hub, which showcases agility in its ability to host events, workshops, and meetings with ease. Meanwhile, the communal kitchen was designed to handle peak usage periods, encouraging social interaction and connection across teams.

The result is a cohesive and efficient workplace environment that supports team wellbeing, reflects brand identity, and positions GIB Winstone for continued growth and innovation.

“The new space has delighted staff and is already delivering on the Wallboards team's goals: fostering collaborative work, innovation, presentations, and impromptu meetings, all contributing to strong connections and excellent outcomes.” - JOHN JAMISON (WWB)
